Sometimes there are days when everything feels dark and sad and you don't believe the sun is ever coming out again? Autumn and winter times are foggy, dark and dizzy here. But if I grab my colour palette and brushes I leave the grey world behind for some hours.

This depressing piece of artwork is what stood at the end of this process. I combined some golden foil with rich colours, textures and vintage roses.



Manchmal gibt es so Tage, an denen sich alles düster und traurig anfühlt und man das Gefühl hat, dass die Sonne nie wieder rauskommt. Herbst und Winter hier sind neblig, dunkel und trüb. Aber wenn ich meine Farbpalette und meine Pinsel in der Hand habe, kann ich diese graue Welt mal für ein paar Stunden hinter mir lassen.

 Dieses eher deprimierende Werk ist das, was am Ende dann dabei herauskam. Ich habe Goldfolie mit viel Farbe und Struktur und ein paar altmodischen Rosen kombiniert.

I promised to make another tutorial about the acrylic pouring technique which includes spreading and swiping. Please make sure you have also read the basics in my tutorial part I and watched the video about the mixing of your colours in my tutorial part II . Watch the video ! In my new tutorial I show you how to create a massive amount of cells in your painting by using the swiping technique. It's pretty simple. I just use some kitchen towel for the swiping. acrylic pouring tutorial part II / Anleitung zum Acrylgießen Teil II

After posting my acrylic pouring tutorial on this blog I got asked many questions about my art. One of them was about the mixing of the paint and additives. How much Floetrol do I use? Do I use water and how much? What about the silicone oil? Therefore I made this short video just to show you just one of the many possibilities you have while using this technique. It's helpful to know the basics, some of it is just physics and chemics but don't loose your creativity on overthinking everything. Most of it is experimenting and feeling. Sometimes you just have to do it. I can't give you a detailed recipe for my pouring colours because I don't exactly measure them. Watch the video to get a feeling how it can be done.
