dawn / Sonnenaufgang

Do you also not live anywhere near the sea? Me neither. But sometimes I crave for the smell of salty water and the sound of crushing waves. With <dawn> I tried to express my desire for the ocean.

Wohnt ihr auch nirgendwo in der Nähe eines Meeres? Ich ebenfalls nicht. Aber manchmal sehne ich mich nach dem Geruch von Salzwasser und dem Geräusch der brechenden Wellen. Mit <dawn> habe ich versucht, dieses Gefühl zum Ausdruck zu bringen.


I brushed shades of shiny blue, turquoise and white.
I also added some mother of pearl paint to make to dawn shimmer above the waves.

Die Farbnuancen aus einem sehr klaren, strahlenden Blau, Türkis und Weiß habe ich mit Pinseln auf die Leinwand gebracht. Dazu kommen ein paar Highlights mit Perlmutt-Farbe, die ganz dezent auf die Wellen gemalt sind und den Sonnenaufgang schimmern lassen.

acrylic pouring tutorial part III "swiping" // Anleitung zum Acrylgießen Teil III "Wischtechnik"

I promised to make another tutorial about the acrylic pouring technique which includes spreading and swiping. Please make sure you have also read the basics in my tutorial part I and watched the video about the mixing of your colours in my tutorial part II . Watch the video ! In my new tutorial I show you how to create a massive amount of cells in your painting by using the swiping technique. It's pretty simple. I just use some kitchen towel for the swiping. acrylic pouring tutorial part II / Anleitung zum Acrylgießen Teil II

After posting my acrylic pouring tutorial on this blog I got asked many questions about my art. One of them was about the mixing of the paint and additives. How much Floetrol do I use? Do I use water and how much? What about the silicone oil? Therefore I made this short video just to show you just one of the many possibilities you have while using this technique. It's helpful to know the basics, some of it is just physics and chemics but don't loose your creativity on overthinking everything. Most of it is experimenting and feeling. Sometimes you just have to do it. I can't give you a detailed recipe for my pouring colours because I don't exactly measure them. Watch the video to get a feeling how it can be done.
