the making of


Yesterday was a bright and sunshiney day. I decided to do some art in my garden. Everything's in spring mood and starting to get green. So why not painting something green? I mixed up some different shades of green, added black and white and got ready to start.

Gestern war ein warmer, sonniger Tag. Also habe ich beschlossen, mal ein bisschen Kunst in meinen Garten zu bringen. Alles ist jetzt in Frühjahrsstimmung und wird endlich grün. Also warum nicht auch mal etwas Grün in ein Bild bringen? Ich habe mehrere unterschiedliche Grüntöne gemischt, dazu noch je eine Portion Schwarz und Weiß, und dann konnte es auch schon losgehen.


For painting I used acrylic colours and mixed them up with Floetrol and silicone oil.

Für das Bild habe ich Acrylfarben benutzt und sie mit Floetrol und Silikonöl gemischt.


Then comes the pouring.

Jetzt kommt das Gießen.



Pro tip: never forget to wear gloves. Really. Its fatal. :D

Profi-Tipp: Nie die Handschuhe vergessen. Echt jetzt. Das ist eine Katastrophe. :D


Doing the dirty part in the garden is good idea.

Es ist eine ziemlich gute Idee, den schmutzigen Teil in Garten zu machen.

After there's paint all over the canvas the torching can be started.

Wenn die Farbe auf dem ganzen Bild verteilt ist, kann das Zündeln losgehen.

acrylic pouring tutorial part III "swiping" // Anleitung zum Acrylgießen Teil III "Wischtechnik"

I promised to make another tutorial about the acrylic pouring technique which includes spreading and swiping. Please make sure you have also read the basics in my tutorial part I and watched the video about the mixing of your colours in my tutorial part II . Watch the video ! In my new tutorial I show you how to create a massive amount of cells in your painting by using the swiping technique. It's pretty simple. I just use some kitchen towel for the swiping. acrylic pouring tutorial part II / Anleitung zum Acrylgießen Teil II

After posting my acrylic pouring tutorial on this blog I got asked many questions about my art. One of them was about the mixing of the paint and additives. How much Floetrol do I use? Do I use water and how much? What about the silicone oil? Therefore I made this short video just to show you just one of the many possibilities you have while using this technique. It's helpful to know the basics, some of it is just physics and chemics but don't loose your creativity on overthinking everything. Most of it is experimenting and feeling. Sometimes you just have to do it. I can't give you a detailed recipe for my pouring colours because I don't exactly measure them. Watch the video to get a feeling how it can be done.
