water inspiration / Wasser-Inspiration

Here's just another making of I just created. That's the outcome of me experimenting with silicone oil, Floetrol and acrylic colours. This time I used silicone spray directly on the canvas and poured the rest above it. I only used three different colours (white, turquoise, dark blue) because I wanted to get a special water effect.

Did you ever dive on a sunny day and looked up to the waters surface? I love to do this. The sun reflects the water and waves - I tried to get exactly that image here. What do you think?

Hier gibt es gleich noch ein Making Of. Das ist das Ergebnis meiner Experimentierversuche mit Silikonöl, Floetrol und Acrylfarben. Dieses Mal habe ich Silikonspray direkt auf die leere Leinwand gesprüht und den Rest darüber gegossen. Ich habe nur drei verschiedene Farben benutzt (Weiß, Türkis, Dunkelblau), weil ich vorhatte, einen Wassereffekt zu erzielen.

 Wart ihr schonmal an einem richtig sonnigen Tag beim Tauchen und hast dir die Wasseroberfläche von unten angesehen? Ich liebe das. Die Sonne reflektiert dann das Wasser und die Wellen - und ich habe versucht, dieses Bild auf einer Leinwand festzuhalten. Was denkt ihr?

acrylic pouring tutorial part III "swiping" // Anleitung zum Acrylgießen Teil III "Wischtechnik"

I promised to make another tutorial about the acrylic pouring technique which includes spreading and swiping. Please make sure you have also read the basics in my tutorial part I and watched the video about the mixing of your colours in my tutorial part II . Watch the video ! In my new tutorial I show you how to create a massive amount of cells in your painting by using the swiping technique. It's pretty simple. I just use some kitchen towel for the swiping. acrylic pouring tutorial part II / Anleitung zum Acrylgießen Teil II

After posting my acrylic pouring tutorial on this blog I got asked many questions about my art. One of them was about the mixing of the paint and additives. How much Floetrol do I use? Do I use water and how much? What about the silicone oil? Therefore I made this short video just to show you just one of the many possibilities you have while using this technique. It's helpful to know the basics, some of it is just physics and chemics but don't loose your creativity on overthinking everything. Most of it is experimenting and feeling. Sometimes you just have to do it. I can't give you a detailed recipe for my pouring colours because I don't exactly measure them. Watch the video to get a feeling how it can be done.
